The power of surveys & promoting them

e-mail survey campaignsWith Surveys & Forms, you can create, publish and track interactive surveys, forms and questionnaires to learn more about your subscribers. In this section, you'll learn how to create a new survey and style it with your brand stationery and text formatting. You'll also learn how to publish and promote your survey, and then see who's taken it and how they responded.

  • Promoting and Linking to your Survey

When you're done creating your survey, it's time to get the word out to your recipients. There are three ways to do this:

    Distribute a public link.
Use this option to create a public survey that anyone can take. Post it on your website, your blog, or anywhere you'd normally put a url. These survey takers will be listed as anonymous in your survey's response section.

You'll see the public url listed on the publish tab once you've set your survey's publish details. Just use your browser's copy and paste commands to post it where needed.

    Create an email invitation.
With an email invitation, you can invite any group(s) of existing email subscribers to take your survey. Access to your survey will be limited to members of the audience groups you send to, and you'll be able to track survey results and responses at a detailed, member-by-member level.

To send an email invitation, click to create an email invitation on the publish tab. A pre-filled email campaign will open. Add your unique style and tone and continue to test and send, like you would with any other email campaign.

Link to the survey from your next email campaign.
If you'd rather wait to send this survey out at a later date, you're all set for now. When you create your next email campaign, you'll link to this survey just like you would a webpage, email address or document.

A couple helpful tips about surveys:

    • The survey is designed to be taken once per email address when sent out as a link in a campaign. After survey-takers submit their responses, they'll be directed to the 'Thanks' page. They can only take the survey once, unless they visit the email from a different computer or open a new browser.

    • We don't recommend sending to an email aliases (addresses like info@company.com that may be received by multiple people), since you won't be able to identify the individuals who've taken the survey.
